LuDAOs

LuDAOs are the new standard for game-world governance

How Council Contracts are used in Metagame 0?

In Metagame 0, we have architected a game world governance protocol that comprises 3 councils, each of which will make decisions over their own areas of jurisdiction:

  • Guilds: Gamer communities where ideas for new content are drafted and refined.
  • Temple of the Priests: Art curators (Priests) issue curated content proposals to the Council of The Elder Gods.
  • Summit of The Elder Gods: Core game designers (The Elder Gods) approve or reject proposals from the priests, and propose new game mechanics for them upon approval, if needed.
  • Council of The Lesser Gods: Developers (The Lesser Gods) approve or vet game-mechanic proposals from the Elder Gods.
  • Chamber of The Demigods: Graphic designers and 3D modelers (The Demigods) decide upon the feasibility and ETA for each new visual material requirement or effects for each new proposed mechanic.

The Guilds

Guilds are communities of artists across various disciplines who propose new content regarding different aspects of the game. Entrance to Guilds is granted upon approval from the Priest of a Guild or by being approved by a majority of the members of the Guild. All members of a Guild need to be active players, as they must meet a minimum time spent online per month to maintain their right to vote and to submit drafts for proposals.

Guild of the Scribes: Narration of past events

This is the easiest role to obtain within a LuDAO. Scribes are in charge of writing narrations of events that happen inside the game as lived through by the game community. They collectively peer review their fellow guild-members submissions to make sure narrations are properly written following the style of the game world. These writings are called Scriptures which are sent as proposals to the Temple of the Priests to be officially included in the Scrolls of History of a game world. The History will be publicly available for reading on Alexandria Wallet.

Guild of the Prophets: Premonition of future events

To become a Prophet you need to be a prolific Scribe. You must meet a minimum amount of contributions to the Scrolls of History of a game world. As a Prophet you will oversee the development of characters and the plots arisen within the game world narrative, and upon their observations to come up with creative and exciting plot twists, revelations and other transcendent events to enrich the existing the game world narrative.

Guild of the Engravers: Illustrations

Artisans are in charge of illustrating the new game content that is approved by the Temple of the Priests. They must fulfill requests by the Temple of the Priests, as well as those made by the other Guilds as complementary material for their proposals. This Guild is also in charge of proposing artistic style guidelines to be vetted by the Temple of the Priests and enforcing them within the Guild once approved. Their works will illustrate passages in the Scrolls of History.

Guild of the Alchemists: New assets or dynamics for existing assets

To become an Alchemist you must demonstrate creativity and commitment to improving the game by making it more fair and fun to play. Alchemists are in charge of proposing new items that could work under certain. For example: weapons, armors, skins, runes, or new spells for a combination of those runes, or the ability to make new alloys will metal ores. If a sword with too much attack has the potential to create unbalanced competition an Alchemist must open a debate at the Guild on whether such unfair situation exists.

Guild of the Sorcerers: New game dynamics

To become a Sorcerer you must demonstrate a fair understanding of game design principles and the possibilities, implications and limitations of web3 features in gaming. Sorcerers have the power to propose new game mechanics that significantly enrich the game experience.

Chamber of Guildmasters

To form part of this council one must become a Guildmaster, which is a role democratically elected by each Guild through recurrent election processes. Candidates can proposed to be in-turn approved or denied by the community. Proposals need a significant minimum of community members to approve the proposal.

In this council, Guildmasters are tasked with curating content proposals received from Guild members and opening voting rounds to vet content proposals. These proposals can regard new narratives, illustrations, or game assets and mechanics for enriching the game lore, optionally including references to real life lore.

The Temple of the Priests

The Priests are responsible for reviewing and approving content proposals received from the Chamber of Guildmasters. They ensure that the proposed mechanics and features align with the overall vision and design of the game world. If a proposal is approved, The Elder Gods may also propose new game mechanics or features to enhance the proposed content.

These new mechanics and visual features must then be vetted by the Summit of the Gods or the Council of Demigods respectively, as required. If a proposals is approved the involved councils sign a covenant with the Temple of the Priests.

In this council, the Priests are the owners of the game world and/or the artistic concept. They can be comprised by the original authors of the concept, game designers, IP holders and other key stakeholders.

The Summit of the Gods

The Gods are responsible for reviewing and approving game mechanics and feature proposals received from the Summit of the Elder Gods. They assess whether those proposals are feasible to implement and issue Roadmap Update Proposals of the game accordingly.

The Gods are the engineers and developers involved in the project. They are in charge of building the game world as gamers experience it.

The Council of the Demigods

The visual artists in this council are responsible for reviewing and approving visual material requirements and effects for new game mechanics and features proposed by the Summit of the Gods. They assess the feasibility and estimated timeline for these visual elements to be produced, and may also receive visual content proposals from the Temple of the Priests for review and approval.
